Answer to Prayer
|
Something happened to me a couple weeks ago that I thought was neat so I thought
I'd share it!
The last couple semesters I've been short on money simply because I'm back in
college, working when I can, and I pretty much just get by like a typical college
student!! Ha! I got my credit card bill in the mail for the month and it was a
pretty large amount from buying books for spring semester, getting groceries and
gas, etc. I didn't have enough to pay it all at once, which is something I really
like to do so I don't have it hanging over my head for months! I was short about a
hundred dollars; I didn't figure it out exactly but I knew I wasn't going to have
enough. I was a little worried about it because it was the time of month when every
bill seems to be due too!! I just prayed that everything would work out the way God
wanted it to and I tried not to let it bother me.
A few days later I was praying about it again as I was driving home. I got into the
house and grabbed my mail. I sat down and started going through it and I opened an
envelope with a check in it. I didn't know what it was, I actually thought it was a
solicitation or sales thing, so I threw it to the side. Then I grabbed it again and
saw that it really was a check made out to me. It was from my old insurance company
that I no longer had, and it was a reimbursement for some dental work I had done
over a year ago, which I had already paid for. I didn't understand it, but I wasn't
going to question it either! I got my checkbook and my credit card bill and figured
out that I needed $83 to pay it. I looked at my check again...the amount it was
written out for was $83.95!!!
1 was so excited I called Jason (my fiancé, for those who don't know him) right
away and told him about it and the first thing he said was that God provides for
us. It felt so good to know that. Some people might say that it was a coincidence,
but I know it wasn't!
I like to read Matthew 6:25-34 if I am worried about something, "...So do not
worry, saying, "What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we
wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows
that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these
things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for
tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
One more I always like to read is I Peter 5:7..."Cast all your anxiety upon him
because he cares for you."
So, no matter what little problem you are facing in your life, give it to God. He
knows what you need before you even ask! Hope you have a great week!
